Jeep Radio: Serial Number Location

To locate your Jeep radio serial number, you'll need to follow different methods depending on your vehicle's model and year. Here are the most common ways to find it:

  • Check the radio unit:

    • Look at the faceplate - some Jeep radios display the serial number briefly when first powered on
    • The serial number is often on a label on the top, side, or back of the radio unit
    • In many Jeep models, you'll need to remove the radio to see this label

  • Radio removal process:

    • Turn off your vehicle and remove the key
    • For most Jeep models, you'll need DIN tools (flat metal removal keys)
    • Insert the tools into the slots on either side of the radio until they click
    • Gently pull the radio out and check all surfaces for labels

Here's how to enter the unlock code for a Jeep car radio:

  • Turn on the radio, which should display "CODE" or a similar message requesting the security code.

  • For most Jeep radio models:

    • Use the preset buttons (typically numbered 1-6) to enter your code
    • On older models, use buttons 1-4, pressing each button the number of times corresponding to each digit of your code
    • On newer models with a display screen, use the tuning knob to select digits and press it to confirm each one

  • For Jeep vehicles with Uconnect systems:

    • The touchscreen will display a numeric keypad
    • Simply tap each digit of your code in sequence
    • Press "Enter" or "OK" to confirm

  • After entering the complete code:

    • Some models automatically verify the code after the last digit is entered
    • Others require you to press a confirmation button like "Enter", "OK" or sometimes the "Seek" button

If you enter an incorrect code, the system will typically display "ERROR" and allow you a limited number of additional attempts. After several failed attempts, most Jeep radios will lock for a period (often displaying "WAIT" followed by a countdown timer).
