Dacia Radio: Serial Number Location
To locate your Dacia radio serial number, you'll need to follow different methods depending on your vehicle's model and year. Here are the most common ways to find it:
-
Check the radio unit:
- The serial number is typically on a label on the top, side, or back of the radio
- In most Dacia models, you'll need to remove the radio to access this label
- Look for a sticker with a barcode or a series of numbers/letters (often starting with "P" or "7")
-
Radio removal process:
- Turn off your vehicle
- For most Dacia radios, you'll need specific removal tools (usually two flat keys)
- Insert the tools into the slots on either side of the radio until they click
- Gently pull the radio out and check all surfaces for the serial number label
-
Access through the Media Nav system (for newer models):
- Go to "Settings" → "System" → "About Device" or similar
- The serial number may be displayed on this screen
-
Special button combinations:
- For many Dacia radios (especially those shared with Renault), press and hold the "Radio" button and Button 6 simultaneously for a few seconds
- Some models require pressing and holding the "Radio" button and the "+" volume button
- Wait for the display to show "CODE" followed by the pre-code or serial number
-
Dacia documentation:
- Check your vehicle documentation folder
- Dacia often includes a "Security Code Card" with both the radio code and serial number
- Check your owner's manual for model-specific instructions

Dacia Radio: Code Entry
Here's how to enter the unlock code for a Dacia car radio:
-
Turn on the radio, which should display "CODE" or "Radio Code" on the screen.
-
For most Dacia radio models:
- Use the preset buttons (1-4) to enter your code
- For older models, press button 1 repeatedly to enter the first digit, button 2 for the second digit, and so on
- For newer models with a digital display, use the volume knob to select each digit and press the knob to confirm
-
On newer Dacia Media Nav or Media Control systems:
- A numeric keypad will appear on the touchscreen
- Simply tap each digit of your code in sequence
- Press "OK" or "Enter" to confirm
-
After entering all digits of the code:
- The system may automatically confirm if correct
- On some models, you need to press and hold the "Source" button or the power button to confirm
If you enter an incorrect code, the radio will typically show "ERROR" and allow a limited number of additional attempts. After several failed attempts, the system will lock temporarily (often showing "WAIT" followed by a timer).
